Make a Flickbook

Make your own simple animation using a flickbook.

You will need:

  • A printed template
  • A pair of scissors
  • Pens and paper
  • A stapler

How to do it

  1. Draw a picture in each frame, each one slightly different from the last
  2. Carefully cut out the frames along the dotted lines
  3. Arrange them in order like the pages of a book
  4. Carefully staple the pages together
  5. Flick the pages to watch your animation

  • Why do my flickbooks not work as well?

    Try keeping your image really simple. A bouncing ball or a spider hanging from a web should look really effective. You need to make sure that your objects are only moving a small amount to give a smooth animation.
